choosing a location that reflects you
As an Ontario Kid, it was common to spend summer days up at the cabin. Whether that was a family or friends family cabin, it was always the best place to be. Lake life has a certain vibe, and I was so excited when Allison and Tina wanted their engagement photography taken at Allison’s family cabin on Levette Lake in Squamish, BC.
Allison’s family has owned this cabin for over 20 years, and she remembers spending the majority of her summers there. Located in Paradise Valley, Levette Lake is 4×4 access only (unless you feel like hiking) and is home to some incredible mountain views. The North side of the lake offers limited camping areas, so if you manage to get a spot it can feel more quiet and less busy than other local lakeside areas. Who doesn’t love a quiet camping experience to enjoy nature under the stars?
While discussing the cabin as the location for their engagement session, Allison and Tina revealed they got engaged on the dock. So not only was this location sentimental for Allison, but now Tina and their exciting new chapter.
We wanted to embrace the charm of the cabin and utilize the surrounding nature. The forested trees and lakeside views provided great diversity for their engagement session. From dancing under the canopy of trees, to popping champagne on the dock, we decided why not end our time with a swim? The perfect experience for them to feel at home: a space they love and know so well. I was honoured to experience this place and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding this summer in pemberton, BC.
Here are some of my favourite moments from their squamish engagement session up at the cabin!
