It was a hot summer day in July, dogs and children were running about and the Collective Kitchen was grilling up their divine food. A true backyard style wedding that had all the intimacy and comfort going for it. I love a good balance between elegant, thoughtful, and relaxed. DJ Foxy Moron had everyone dancing under the stars and you could see the outline of the mountains lit by the light of the moon. Now, you can’t technically order a beautifully lit moon for your wedding day, but I can assure you that whatever the weather brings will be a detail worth documenting!

Wedding days can be busy, emotional, and sometimes a bit stressful. It’s one of the reasons why I always recommend to my couples to include a few evening light portraits into their timeline. it’s an opportunity to take a step back, breathe and soak in the day. It also gives you a private moment to relish in the fact that you just got hitched! I love documenting these final portraits. it leads perfectly into the dancing as well. All the anxious and semi-stressed feelings have released, and all that is left is to dance the night away.
