I’m excited to share this Pemberton proposal from a couple weeks back. Pemberton is one of my favourite places to photograph because the valley offers beautiful light and stunning mountain views. One Mile Lake is a pretty obvious choice, but yet no matter how many times I shoot there it still continues to surprise me with its beauty.
It was a sunny Saturday morning, I was alone and sitting along the semi-frozen lake only to wait for my cue to capture Anthony propose to Breianna on their “dog walk”. We preplanned this for a few weeks and during the process we got to know one another a bit better via email and phone conversions. Let’s just say all our planning worked like a dream and Breianna was completely in shock. I always enjoy capturing the portraits to follow the proposal because as the session progresses you can see it all slowly sinking in. Natural adrenaline meets a lovely daze. It’s the best!
It was important to Anthony that we incorporate Milo (their cute pup) into their session. He is a big part of their relationship and having him be there for the proposal amplified the importance of these images. Milo has this cute habit where he loves to squeeze himself right in the middle of Anthony and Breianna. When I would get them to hug and embrace one another, there was Milo snuggling his way in. It was adorable!
Both Anthony and Breianna had never been to One Mile Lake, so they were swooning over the mountain views and quiet atmosphere during their session. Even though the town of Pemberton has been growing immensely over the last decade, there is still such a calmness and small town vibe to it. If you ever get the chance to drive up to Pemberton, I encourage you to take the day and explore this quaint town. With lots of local shops, farms, and trails to explore it’s no wonder this small farm town has turned into a destination.
