Howe Sound & Mountain Views
The Squamish Valley has some of the most beautiful and diverse backdrops for engagement and wedding photography. Situated with gorgeous coastal mountains on either side, the valley hugs right up against Howe Sound providing access to mountain and ocean views all at once. Trust me, it’s completely captivating.
Living full time in the mountains you can sometimes feel a little “closed-in”. Squamish has the best of both worlds: providing access to some of the most incredible mountain ranges while being tucked up against the Pacific Ocean. Driving along the Sea to Sky highway you feel this sense of scale to nature. These bold and articulate mountains meeting the ocean’s deep blue abyss. Maybe I’m sounding a bit dramatic to those who have yet to visit, but everyone else who is familiar with the area can understand how impossible it is to describe its beauty.
Stephanie and Tim were one of the many couples who’s 2020 wedding celebration had to get rescheduled. Tim wanted to surprise Steph with a photo session to document their connection during this time. I thought it was a pretty sweet gesture and I can tell you first hand that these two are very excited to spend the rest of their lives together.
I first met them back at Vicky & Tom’s wedding at Barking Frog Lodge. It’s always an honour to be connected again with past guests from a previous occasion. We explored various locations together, told stories and had a few laughs. All in all I think the icing on the cake was getting to spend time with them and document their very evident connection. To me, it felt like nostalgic love… that’s why there is a little dash of grain in the black and whites. I wanted it to feel like these images were timeless.
