Last August I was fortunate to ride in a helicopter to photograph a Squamish intimate wedding on the Tantalus Mountain Range. It was a highlight of 2019 for many reasons. A lot of firsts with this wedding: flying with the incredible Black Tusk Helicopters, venturing to the Tantalus Range, and capturing a bride and groom having a snow ball fight with their loved ones. Check, check and check! So humbled to be a part of this intimate celebration.
Lauren and Phil are huge mountaineers and their wedding truly reflected their love for the great outdoors. Black Tusk Heli brought us to the Jim Haberl Hut where we could be among the glaciers and have plenty of flat ground to explore. They packed a picnic too so everyone could enjoy sandwiches, fruit and bubbles to toast after they said their vows. They had one of the most unique aisles I have ever witnessed on a wedding day. There was obviously no path they just had to find the best route to get to the ceremony location which was a bit tricky and fun to photograph. Truly breathtaking views with a warm summer Sun and gentle breeze. I highly recommend exploring this area if you ever get the chance. Obviously, travelling by helicopter is a fun twist but I’m sure the hikes are incredibly beautiful!
I am so grateful to capture these Squamish intimate weddings where the connection is true and the experience is playful. These are the moments that bring joy to a wedding day. Moments where you can take a breath, enjoy the company, and remember why you and your loved ones are here.
