Urban and Natural Engagement Photography
The first time I met Anita and Jeff was at Park Royal for a coffee. They both were so interested in photography, what they envisioned for their wedding day, and what my approach was. I truly enjoy talking about photography. It’s a subject matter that seemingly never gets old and no matter how many times I may answer similar questions the answers are always evolving.
Living in Whistler I get to photograph among mountains and trees, nature at its best. When Anita and Jeff suggested their engagement session to be a balance of urban and rural, I may have jumped out of my seat a little with excitement. It’s interesting because even when I am in urban spaces I tend to try and find nature wherever it may be thriving, but when we decided on meeting at Park Royal again for their session my brain couldn’t be more focused on concrete… yes, I just said I got excited about concrete.
Exploring parkades, stairwells, and concrete walls we shifted to Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver for sunset. Finding our way to the coast line we watched the sun set in awe and felt the warmth of its last hour on our skin. Spending time with these two in Vancouver was a unforgettable session filled with so much exploration and wonder. Thank you Anita and Jeff for opening up and being creative with me, looking forward to photographing your wedding next year!
